Yunus Orders Establishment of Hajj Management Centre

To make the Hajj journey easier, more organized, and safer, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has directed the launch of a Hajj Management Centre to provide round-the-clock services for Bangladeshi pilgrims.

Currently, there are 1,275 licensed Hajj agencies in Bangladesh, of which 941 agencies are qualified for Hajj operations. However, due to poor planning and lack of coordination, pilgrims often face difficulties with visa processing, flights, accommodation, and healthcare services. The Hajj Management Centre aims to resolve these issues efficiently.

During a meeting of the National Committee on Hajj Management, Professor Yunus stated:
“Allah has allowed us to facilitate the holy Hajj, and we must make the best use of it. No pilgrim should suffer, and we must ensure that.”

He also instructed that all roles and responsibilities of Hajj agencies be documented and published both in booklets and online. Strict action will be taken against agencies failing to meet service standards.

  • Instructional videos for problem-solving.
  • 24/7 call center and real-time monitoring.
  • Special facilities for women and children.
  • Introduction of a Hajj credit card for easy transactions.

Yunus emphasized:
“If a pilgrim falls ill, gets lost, or faces any issue, there should be clear guidelines on what to do and whom to contact. These details must be available through booklets, call centers, and websites.”

Final Thoughts

The establishment of the Hajj Management Centre will significantly improve the experience of Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims. The government is committed to making the entire Hajj process more efficient, transparent, and safe.
